Over the past two decades Peter has established himself as a prolific writer across several media, with 41 commissions to date. Productions of his theatre scripts have included the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the Gielgud Theatre in the West End; along with regional touring in the UK and acclaim in the US. Numerous radio commissions for the BBC include work with Bill Nighy, Tim Pigott-Smith, Roger Allam, Samuel West, Ciaran Hinds, Juliet Stevenson, Robert Glenister & Juliet Aubrey: together with several award nominations and also a Gold Medal 'radio Oscar' first prize at the New York International Festival of Radio. Writing libretti for composer Norbert Zehm means Peter's work has been performed in Austria, Italy and the UK, and broadcast across Europe. In 2008 Norbert and Peter's anthem for the Euro Soccer Championship was officially adopted by the host city of Innsbruck. The past year has brought two new libretto commission premieres: for Norbert Zehm's opera CADENCE MACBETH at Tiroler Landestheater, Innsbruck; and Mozart's operetta THE IMPRESARIO at Redbridge Drama Centre. |
